To Conclude: A Summary of Our Experience
Manuel Antonio National Park may be the smallest national park in Costa Rica, but it is one of the most biodiverse and beautiful national parks on the planet. Though there are many ecosystems within this national park, the tropical rainforest ecosystem was the ecosystem that was truly expounded upon throughout this experience. By experiencing the ecology of this wonderful ecosystem, you learned about factors specific to the tropical rainforest biome and their impact on the ecosystem, the different types of producers and consumers that currently inhabit the national park, the flow of energy that travels through each organism on each trophic level, and relationships revolving around predation. In addition, the endangered squirrel monkey was also discussed. Many people from around the world are pitching in to save the endangered squirrel monkeys of Manuel Antonio National Park, as people have started to realize the negative impact that human activity can have on the entire ecosystem. With that said, be sure to visit the Manuel Antonio National Park and experience its ecology firsthand, as that will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience!
